Where the order starts
Your homepage sells. It does not just point at the menu.
Most Restaurant sites are a brochure with an “Order Online” button that hands the customer to a separate ordering address. On Varlounge the homepage carries the brand and the cart, so a decided customer can order from the first screen.

One page and one address. Hero, story, deals and customer reviews sit above a menu the customer can actually order from, and the full menu stays one click away for anyone still deciding. Restaurant pages support page-specific SEO fields, so the page that ranks is the page that takes the order.

Two high-volume items account for most of the refund increase
Example finding based on sample aggregate figures.
Observed
Sample refund value increased from 1.4% to 2.1%; two items represent 61% of the change.
Interpretation
The concentration warrants a menu and preparation review. The figures identify association, not a proven cause.
Recommended action
Review the two item descriptions and preparation notes with the menu lead before changing pricing or availability.

Friday ready-to-handoff time increased during the dinner window
Example priority finding based on sample aggregate figures.
Observed
Median ready-to-handoff time increased from 5 to 11 minutes across 42 fulfilled Friday orders.
Qualified interpretation
The increase is associated with a higher share of multi-item orders in the same window. The evidence does not prove that order size caused the delay.
Recommended action
Have the shift lead review staging and handoff roles during the next two Friday dinner windows, then compare the same timing measure.

When twenty minutes stops being realistic
Ten ordinary orders landing together can be harder on an oven than one big one. Varlounge watches for both situations, tells the team, and then measures whether the estimate actually held—without ever quietly changing the time a customer was promised.
01 · ANTICIPATE
Two signals you set yourself
Define the hours your kitchen is genuinely busy, and the item count above which an order stops being routine. Varlounge raises a flag when either applies—or both.

Large order14 items · over 5
Both signals present
02 · DECIDE
Your team makes the call
The flag reaches the person accepting the order, with a suggested delay. Varlounge does not reject the order, extend the promise on its own, or move a time the customer has already been given.

03 · MEASURE
Every dish is timed
Varlounge records how long each individual item takes from the kitchen receiving it to handoff. Your Business Review reads that back—so the threshold you guessed at can become the one your kitchen actually needs.

Rush windows and the large-order threshold are guidance for your staff. They do not reject orders, and they do not automatically change a customer’s promised time. Preparation time, scheduling slots, lead time and how far ahead customers may book are configured per Restaurant, separately for pickup and Restaurant-managed delivery.

U.S./USD illustration. This calculator uses USD and Stripe's standard U.S. domestic online-card example of 2.9% + USD 0.30. Rates vary by country, payment method and account pricing, and actual savings vary.
Start with the orders you expect to move from a marketplace. Enter your current commission, then choose how customers will receive those orders on your own page.
Count only orders you realistically expect customers to place on your own page. Orders that remain on a marketplace are excluded.
Your typical ticket before tax and tip.
Use the effective percentage on your own statement—not a headline rate—and include any payment-processing line the marketplace bills separately. Marketplace delivery tiers commonly fall between 15% and 30%.

Driver time and vehicle costs for one delivery, before the customer’s delivery fee.
Per delivery, before tax. This offsets your delivery cost; card processing also applies to this fee.
Method, assumptions and exclusions
This compares one marketplace order against the same order placed on the Restaurant’s own page. The commission is applied only to the orders entered as moving.
The marketplace commission is treated as covering the marketplace’s own payment processing, so moving those orders adds card processing as a genuinely new cost.
Card processing uses Stripe’s published standard U.S. domestic online-card rate of 2.9% + USD 0.30, applied to the full amount charged to the card rather than the ticket alone, because card fees also apply to tax and tip; the estimate assumes tax and tip add 18% to the food ticket. Customer delivery fees are also included in the card charge; any tax on those fees is assumed to be covered by this overall tax-and-tip allowance. Custom pricing, international cards and currency conversion can differ. Check Stripe’s current pricing.
Only the entered delivery orders incur delivery costs. Monthly delivery cost = deliveries × cost per delivery; delivery fee income = deliveries × the fee you charge. Pickup orders incur neither. Varlounge supplies no drivers. This example assumes the marketplace currently handles delivery and keeps its delivery fee; restaurant-managed marketplace delivery would need a separate comparison.
Monthly difference = marketplace commission avoided + customer delivery fees − card processing − your delivery costs − Varlounge subscription and overages. The estimate uses the lowest-cost plan for this volume, assumes these are your only Varlounge orders, and annualizes one month at the same volume. It does not select a plan by AI features or include Token top-ups.
Taxes and tips are excluded from revenue and from the avoided commission, and are counted only in the card-processing basis. Optional Varlounge professional services, refunds, promotions, marketplace advertising, menu price differences between channels, and possible future repeat-order effects are excluded.
This is an estimate from your inputs—not a forecast, guarantee, accounting opinion, or promise of results.

Questions you may have.
Does Varlounge charge a percentage of each Restaurant order?
Varlounge's percentage platform fee is 0%. Each paid plan includes a monthly order allowance, followed by a fixed overage of USD 0.20 on Basic, USD 0.15 on Gold or USD 0.10 on Premium. Stripe processing is separate.
Is the direct-order financial estimate a savings guarantee?
No. It is an estimate calculated from the figures the visitor enters. It subtracts assumed US domestic online-card processing, Restaurant-managed delivery cost, and Varlounge plan and overage cost. Marketplace inclusions, custom processing rates, taxes, tips, refunds, promotions, optional services and future customer behavior can change the real result.
How do Restaurant payments and payouts work?
The customer payment is created through the Restaurant's connected Stripe account. Stripe processing fees are separate from Varlounge pricing, and Stripe controls payout availability and timing.
What are AI Business Review Tokens?
AI Business Review Tokens let you generate AI-powered insights about your Restaurant's performance. Tokens are included with paid plans, accumulate when unused, and can be topped up whenever you need more. A Standard AI Business Review uses 15 Tokens and a Premium AI Business Review uses 25 Tokens.
What happens when I cancel or replace a plan?
Normal cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and paid access continues through that date. Normal cancellation does not include an automatic prorated refund. Plan replacement is handled separately.
What is the difference between Standard and Premium AI Business Reviews?
Basic offers Standard AI Business Reviews: written analysis with evidence and recommended next steps. Gold and Premium offer Premium AI Business Reviews: deeper analysis with prioritized findings, confidence, severity and structured management actions where the evidence supports them. Standard uses 15 Tokens per review; Premium uses 25. Both are advisory and require sufficient Token balance.
Can the ordering experience use the Restaurant's own domain?
Yes. A Restaurant can publish its branded ordering experience on its own configured domain, subject to domain, DNS and activation readiness. Additional fees may apply.
Does Varlounge provide delivery drivers?
No. Varlounge supports pickup and Restaurant-managed delivery, including delivery eligibility and timing rules. It does not supply or dispatch drivers.
Does a Restaurant need proprietary hardware?
No proprietary Varlounge hardware is required. Customer, owner and kitchen experiences run in supported web browsers. Gold and Premium also support protected order actions from email.
How does tax work?
Tax behavior is configuration-dependent. Supported Restaurants can use optional Stripe Tax when ready and eligible, configure manual tax, or use a no-tax policy where appropriate. Automatic tax is not asserted for every Restaurant or order.
Can an AI Business Review change Restaurant settings?
No. AI Business Reviews are advisory. They can present observations, qualified interpretations and recommended actions, but they do not change menus, prices, staffing, hours, fulfilment settings or other Restaurant configuration.
Are Varlounge's professional services included in a Restaurant plan?
No. Listing management, advertising, website services, audits and AI Chat are separately scoped professional services. Availability, the exact tier and any third-party spend are confirmed in the applicable proposal.
